We conducted experimental studies of laser-induced fluorescence spectra emitted by various man-made structures on the earth surface, using an eye-safe 0.355 µm fluorescence induction wavelength. We present parameters of our experimental installation and results of processing spectra of laser-induced fluorescence in man-made structures. We show that the signal of laser-induced fluorescence in man-made structures on the earth surface (asphalt, bitumen, roofing felt, brick, and paver, painted surfaces, pollution not caused by oil or petroleum products) is comparable to the laser-induced fluorescence signal generated by oil pollution on the earth surface. Promising developments should deal with oil pollution detection methods utilising laser fluorescence induced by the eye-safe 0.355 µm wavelength, based on analysing fluorescence spectrum shapes characteristic of oil and petroleum product pollution, man-made and natural structures
