On Some Properties of Cellular Automata and Their Application in the Structure of Pseudorandom Sequence Generators

Properties of the uniform two-dimensional Boolean cellular automata are investigated, and also a new pseudorandom-sequence generator is developed on the basis of using these automata. The output sequences of such generators have good statistic properties, and the hardware implementation of the offered algorithms in the typical programmable logic devices has the very high operating speed — up to 25 Gbit/s at a frequency of 100 MHz.
