A technique is proposed for computer-aided design of overall dimensions of a zoom lens consisting of no more than four components, with two of them being mobile. The technique allows Gaussian parameters of the zoom lens to be determined with the specified difference of focal lengths, focal ratios (f-numbers), and design constraints. The technique is based on the theory providing the study of the entire diversity of pancratic systems by means of varying only one generalized parameter.
