Taking Bearing to Localized Source of Acoustic Emissions Based on Spectral Method of Signal Processing

Problems of taking bearing to a source of acoustic emissions on the basis of the signal processing spectral method are considered. The data processing algorithm and signal spectral characteristics at the two-element antenna outputs are analyzed, and an accuracy of the bearing of man's steps in the reference plane is estimated. A multiplicative method of forming the direction diagram of the bearing finder in processing of wide-band signals is suggested. Using results of experimental studies, a direction diagram of the phased array is synthesized.
