Mathematical models and structure schemes of apparatus for imitation of an input signal occurring as a result of reflections from the underlying surface are given which are destined for testing of on-board short-range radar systems of centimeter-wave band. The mathematical simulation is based on the geometrical representation of the underlying surface as a polygonal model and on the direct solution of the electro-dynamic problem of diffraction of electromagnetic waves. The signal is reproduced by a method of the functional quasi full-scale modeling using mathematical models through matching devices which control the imitator.
