Background Radar as Nontraditional Method to Detect Moving Air Objects

A history of origination of the method is presented. The method and its physical interpretation are described. The background radar equation and calculation of detection areas of the background radar system are considered. Energy and frequency relationships and the signal/noise ratio in a linear section of the background radar system with using reflections from a local object are analyzed. Examples of the background radar system simulation using diffuse reflections from the Earth surface are presented.
