Synthesis and Simulation of Costas Loop

Based on the theory of nonlinear optimum filtration, the synthesis of synchronization system constructed by the Costas loop is performed. A two-loop system is obtained, which contains the direct (data) and Q channels as well as the correction filter in the feedback circuit and channel filters. An imitation model is created. The operation of the Costas loop is analyzed. Main factors that influence the probability of phase-tracking break are revealed, and ways for their reduction are offered.
